Finding professional marketing support that was customized and effective.
When estate planning attorney Cheryl David was first introduced to GNGF back in 2017, she was in desperate need of new marketing support for her law firm.
An attorney for over 30 years, David had spent the vast majority of them following a marketing system provided through a membership for estate planning attorneys.
But following that system had required too much of David for too little results.
She’d spent a lot of her own time working on — and worrying about — marketing, and never felt confident that their SEO and website were working as they should.
She’d spent thousands of dollars marketing and hosting in-person dinner seminars for not enough new client conversions to truly make it worth the outlay.
And she’d also carried the cost and stress of having an additional employee who could carry out the marketing tasks.
So when her daughter, who is also an attorney at David’s firm, encouraged her to look into GNGF, she did.

“My daughter had met GNGF at The Lawyernomics Conference and was really impressed with them,” David said. “She gave me their book to read, which I did, and when we went to the conference together the next year I spoke with them myself.”

“After reading their book, speaking with them at Lawyernomics, meeting with them in my office, and speaking with other attorneys who were already working with them — all of whom said wonderful things — I decided to take a leap of faith and have them take over our marketing,” David said.
“At the time I partnered with GNGF, we had lost yet another employee who was handling our marketing, and we were in a lot of pain. It was definitely time to try a new strategy and it made sense to start having our marketing professionally handled.”
With their partnership finalized, GNGF got to work. They started by building David’s firm a new website.
She said when GNGF took over her website she quickly saw one of the biggest drawbacks of the marketing system she’d been using.
“When GNGF started digging into our website they told me that I didn’t own it,” David said. “We had all of this content that we had built up over 20 years, but I didn’t own any of it. So, we had to start from scratch.”
GNGF worked with David to write content that was rich with targeted SEO, as well as create a new website that was fully optimized for conversions from her ideal clients.
David said throughout the creation of their new website, she loved GNGF’s ideas and how open the team was to her input — and how prompt and organized they were at initiating the tasks and getting them done.
“I know the power of good marketing. It thrills me, and GNGF has always been very receptive to my ideas,” David said. “When I asked about incorporating videos onto the website, they thought that would be a great idea. So, they created the script and worked with another company to film a video for our homepage. Later, they sent a videographer to the office and they created 170 videos for our Video FAQs Library. They orchestrated all of this work and got our new videos on our site.”
When the website was complete, GNGF fleshed out — and automated — David’s online strategy with email marketing and paid advertising.

David said the paid ads have helped her dramatically reduce the cost of the biggest marketing strategy she had been using prior to GNGF, which was hosting in-person dinner seminars, and they were also crucial to helping the firm get through COVID.
“We used to do direct mail pieces to promote our dinner seminars that would cost $7,500 – $10,000 a campaign,” David said. “We might get two or three new clients out of those but it could end up costing us several thousand to acquire a new client.”
“Then the pandemic hit and hosting in-person seminars wasn’t an option anymore. Because we were working with GNGF, we were able to pivot very quickly to do online webinars, and they got that all set up for us. Now instead of spending up to $7,000 on direct mail we’re spending roughly $2,000 on online ads. The first year of the pandemic was a very scary time for everybody, but we were able to help our clients and keep the business alive, thanks in large part to the efforts of GNGF.”
Running the online webinars continues to be the firm’s biggest marketing strategy — and GNGF continues to refine and perfect the process for them.
“We have a rhythm now and we conduct seminars two times a month,” David said. “Even though we could go back to in-person seminars, we haven’t yet, because doing online webinars is much more efficient, effective, and a big timesaver.”
David said the firm has been working with GNGF for many years now, and she’s been thrilled with the results she’s seen because of their work.
“GNGF has definitely helped us grow,” David said. “They’ve reduced the cost of our seminars substantially. They’ve gotten us business through our website and our website is performing well.”
