Daniel officially joined the GNGF team in July of 2020, but he’s been working alongside the team for a lot longer than that. In 2016 Daniel started work at a small start-up here in Cincinnati transplanting him and his wife from Louisville. Sharing an office building with GNGF, Daniel spent a lot of time with the team. Eventually, Beer:30 happy hours turned into side projects and actual work. It was only a matter of time until we made it official and brought him on board as a full-time employee.
Daniel is a storyteller all the way to the core. Before joining GNGF, he created everything from TV commercial spots at a small Louisville area production company to in-depth web series traveling across the country to shoot interviews. When he’s not at the office (and even sometimes when he is) Daniel plays Dungeons & Dragons the old-school tabletop roleplaying game. As a DM, the member of the group leading the adventure, Daniel says, “it’s an exercise in problem-solving, improv, and creative writing all at once.”
Born in Louisville, Daniel attended Ball State University where he honed his craft and put names to the techniques he’d already been using as a filmmaker for years. A cinephile and nerd, his love of movies and TV led to a need to create for himself. Since graduating in 2012, Daniel’s been a one-man production crew most of his career, but that’s never gotten in the way of his love for sharing his skills. Daniel loves working with a team on set and teaching everything he knows. Ask him about cameras some time, unless you don’t have all day to spend talking about why “you should really focus more on the lens than the sensor.”
