Warning: Get Involved

communityWhen you are creating your law firm’s online presence, it’s only natural to try to expand your client sphere. However, don’t forget about the importance of your local community. When clients are in need, they will be looking for credible lawyers nearby.

In addition to a solid web presence, you should also have a local community that supports you. A relationship with your local community can not only strengthen your reputation, but it can also earn you reliable references.

There are many ways that your law firm can get involved in the community. You can sponsor a high school or intramural team, be involved in charity events, or create a scholarship for local students. Find something that your firm would enjoy supporting.

On your website, it’s essential that you are creating quality local blogs and landing pages. This type of content can improve your local SEO and drive more potential clients to your site.

Don’t let the idea of a solid website presence (while still important) narrow your client focus. Be sure to strike the proper balance between maintaining a strong relationship with your community and reaching out to other areas. Take part in community events, network, and have fun doing it.
