We have created hundreds of custom law firm websites over the last ten years. In doing this, we have focused on two major areas. First, we have managed to build websites that are successful in ranking on search engines. Second, we have implemented key components on each website to increase conversion rates.

We have implemented, tested, and reviewed website heat-maps, conversion funnels, tree-maps, and behavior flows to figure out what works best for law firm websites. We have optimized websites for site speed performance to increase load time which significantly decreases bounce rates.

Enterprise-Level Hosting + Web Support

Many law firm marketing agencies don’t talk about the underlying server infrastructure used for their websites, and there is probably a reason for that. After using the same providers as many of our colleagues in the industry, we were tired of the unpredictable downtimes and slow performance of the ‘big-box’ hosting providers.

Over the last five years, we have invested significantly in our server infrastructure and tools with WPEngine, the leading hosting provider for WordPress websites, and Cloudflare, the leading internet infrastructure tools for security, performance, and reliability.

When clients utilize our hosting tools, we have maintained a more than 99.9% uptime. That may not sound like that big of a deal, but it’s important to understand that going from 99.9% to 98% uptime is the difference in having your law firm website down for a total of 8 hours over the course of a year vs. your heavy investment in your lead generating website being down days at a time (7.3 days).

In addition to just uptime, we significantly upgraded the speed of our websites (good for both SEO and conversion) and we increased security from denial of service attacks and intrusion. In fact, all law firm websites are created with SSL by default. This not only improves security but also allows us to gain even more analytics data.

You may not realize this, but one of the largest vulnerabilities to websites is not regularly updating your site with security patches. Unfortunately, sometimes a patch to your web platform conflicts with a plug-in or design element. You have to regularly update these, but also do a full test across the site to make sure nothing broke. If you are hosting your website on your own service, you should dedicate a few hours each month to make sure your site is updated and secure.

If hosting on our platform, our team will take care of regular site maintenance updates and testing to ensure your site is secure and running efficiently. If an update has a conflict or breaks anything, they will fix that too.

Based on the complexity of your situation, we may recommend that you get prepaid website support each month. Maybe you occasionally like to add or change something on your website that is outside of our content strategy. Or you need to add some custom code to help track an offline to online marketing campaign you are running. If you purchase website support hours in advance, whatever the issue or request, you won’t get nickel and dimed when you need our quick help.

Our “911 Support” team is connected to all of our uptime monitoring tools through email, Slack, and text messages. If your site goes down for any reason, our team will know about it within minutes and can start working on it hours before you realize anything is wrong.

Implementing an SSL certificate on your website changes your URL from http:// to https://. This adds the little lock icon next to your URL in the prospective client’s browser too. Although the site’s appearance doesn’t change, having a secure site has many positive benefits.

  • Consumers have been taught to look for the lock icon, therefore it provides a secure feeling to prospective clients that all form data entered by them is encrypted and private
  • We believe that having a secure site is a positive ranking factor for Google

A good law firm website must meet certain requirements to generate leads. Examples include:

Mobile-friendliness. The website should have a mobile-first approach, given that more than 54% of global internet users browse the internet via mobile devices. This translates to around 4.3 billion people!
